One of the most challenging things about booking accommodations is finding one with an affordable price and in a great location. And that is exactly what the Deparis Beach Resort in Boracay will give you!

After Boracay’s rehabilitation, some hotels and hostels on the island weren’t given a permit to operate again. Not unless they comply with the legal and environmental requirements that the government required.

We were looking at resorts that we have previously stayed before in Boracay. And unfortunately, despite it being off-season, they were already full.

So, I had no choice but to look for other accommodations at the Boracay beachfront.

Good thing that I stumbled upon Deparis Beach Resort and saw its reviews. The reviews were great particularly the location which made me decide it was a great option for us.

We were traveling with my mom and my daughter so we wanted a hotel in a central location. And we definitely got it with Deparis Beach Resort.

Here’s why…

How to Book a Room at the Deparis Beach Resort

Kid at the Reception of Deparis Beach Resort

We booked our room through online booking. This gave us a good discount for a room that could accommodate 3 adults and 1 child.

Another option is by calling their hotline or visiting the resort’s website and do your reservations from there.

How to Get to the Resort

Location: Station 2, Balabag, Boracay Aklan 5608, Philippines

The resort is located in Station 2, Boracay, just right on the beachfront. They have one of the best locations, much better than the hotel we were initially looking at.

It is near the D’Mall and at a convenience shop. It is a few steps away from restaurants and some of the most delicious desserts you’ll have in Boracay: Halomango and Ice Flakes.

There are plenty of ways to get to the resort. Any mode of transportation that can get you to Station 2, is good.

From the Caticlan Airport, hire a tricycle to take you to the Caticlan Port. If you are coming from Kalibo Airport, take the van or bus going to Caticlan Port.

At the Caticlan Port, you will have to pay for the fees at the counter, including the environmental fee, the terminal fee, and the boat fee and proceed to the boat. Travel time from Caticlan Port to Cagban Jetty Port in Boracay is approximately 15-18 minutes.

From the Cagban Jetty Port, you can take the tricycle going to D’Mall and from there walk towards the beachfront and head left on the beach footpath towards the resort.

Another option is to alight at the Hospital/ Health Center or at the Aloha Deli and enter the narrow road and walk westward until you reach the back gate of the Deparis Beach Resort.

Instead of hiring a tricycle, we opted to get transfers via Klook. They have the Regular Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (MPH) Shared Transfers for Boracay for 390 Php per head. As mentioned, we were 4 in the group and I wanted everything to run smoothly.

I didn’t want to waste time looking for public transport so we opted to book in advance.

It proved to be a good thing since it was pretty hot by the time we arrived in Boracay.

The personnel helped carry our things from the port to the airport and vice versa since we also booked a return trip.

Checking-In

Check-In at the Resort's Reception

We arrived at around 2-3 PM so the room was already available when we arrived.

I only showed my ID during check-in and had to wait for a couple of minutes before we were guided to our room on the second floor.

Room Rates at the Resort

Quad Economy Room at the Deparis Beach Resort

The room we booked was a Quad Economy for 4,156 Php per night. It included free breakfast, 2 twin beds, a refrigerator, and flat-screen television.

We had to change rooms on the second day because we had a senior citizen and a child with us and the stairs leading to the room assigned to us was a bit steeper than we would’ve liked.

The fire alarm rang twice earlier in the night which caused us quite a scare. It was just right outside the door so it caught us off-guard and a bit of panic too.

After much inquiry at the front desk, we found out that a guest was smoking inside a room which ultimately set the fire alarm.

Also, later that night, there was a foul-smelling odor penetrating the room from the outside. We later found out during the day that they were hauling from the septic tank.

Needless to say, it was not a good first night for us to say the least.

The good thing was on the second day, there was an available room on the ground floor, facing the front.

We were able to transfer without additional cost, although the room was smaller than the room that we have booked.

It didn’t matter because we liked it better because of the location plus the set-up was much nicer than the first room.

Resort Amenities

Resort Amenities

The resort didn’t have that much amenities, other than the fact that it was so close to the beach. Once you step out of the property, you are already at the beachfront of the island.

The internet connection was also great, especially at the dining area. Though the connection would sometimes be cut-off inside the room.

I didn’t mind it though because I personally preferred working outside.

They also had a smoking area, which was unfortunately just outside our room. But, in fairness though, not too many people were smoking so we weren’t able to smell cigarette smoke inside.

The staff were also friendly and very accommodating. We were also able to ask for hot water to clean my daughter’s milk bottle.

The breakfast was plated, so you’ll be given these menus to look into then place your order to the staff. Usually, they open at 7 or 8 AM, but we found out they can serve as early as 6 AM as long as you request it the night before.

Aside from the viand and rice, the plated breakfast included coffee/ hot chocolate and some fresh fruits too.

Check-Out

Facade of the Boracay Resort

Our airport transfer picked us up at 11 AM for our 2 PM flight. By 9 or 10 AM, we were already ready and just proceeded with the early check-out.

There wasn’t an issue and we were right on time when the personnel from the airport transfer arrived to get our things.

Deparis Beach Resort Review: Over-all Verdict

Deparis Beach Resort Review

Despite the unfortunate events on the first night, we have enjoyed our stay at the Deparis Beach Resort.

It actually was a good eye-opener for me, since a similar event occurred to us on our stay at Panglao Grande Resort at the Bolod Beach in Bohol for my daughter’s first birthday.

I learned to be more particular to the features of the room prior to booking. Especially since we have a toddler with us.

Over-all we do recommend staying at the resort and would love to go back especially for their awesome location!
