Bahrain, also known as the Kingdom of Bahrain, is one of the smallest country in Asia. It is known as the site of the ancient Dilmun civilization, is famed for its pearl fisheries and unique Bahrain tourist attractions.
It is located off the coast of Saudi Arabia and is connected by the King Fahd Causeway which stretches at around 25km. The Causeway provides as the direct road link between the two countries. A drive through the Causeway is a treat as there are some great spots that you can visit.
Like most of its neighboring countries, tourism in Bahrain is increasing due to the various developments in the kingdom. January to March and October are the popular times to visit Bahrain as it is not too hot or too cold. Several points of interest includes forts, museums and mosques.
My sister lived in Bahrain for 2 years as a nurse in one of Bahrain’s medical institution. If not busy, weekends are spent exploring Bahrain attractions.
Transportation to various spots is easy enough. You may ride their local buses, take group tours, hire the local taxis (or limos), or rent a car or a bus.
Having lived there as a local for some time, here are some of her must-see Bahrain tourist attractions that you should not miss!

YOu’re welcome 🙂
Your post about Bahrain reminds me of my trip to the Arab Emirates. I went to a camel souk in Al Ain and explored so many forts and oases out there. The architecture is still so traditional but in the same time you can find modern buildings as well. Hope to get some day to Bahrain and Qatar as well.
The fort looks fascinating! Good to know that the staff of the mosque give a free guided tour. Al Dar island is just awesome!
I definitely know the country Bahrain, but this is the post I’ve read about it. The places looks great. I especially love the big huts on the beach.

Having lived in Asia all my life, I haven’t been anywhere close to this! Definitely adding this to my list of places to visit. Tips are helpful and I love animals so visiting the camels would be helpful for me 🙂 interesting!

I had no idea it was so inexpensive to vacation in Bahrain. The Royal Camel Farm looks like a fun tour. It’s surprising to see how open the exhibits are compared to places here in the US.
I never thought of going to Bahrain but those old forts look like the kind of site that I would be really interested in seeing.
We have a lot of OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) in Bahrain, and they said it’s a beautiful country. We would love to visit there and ride camels, watch the desert sunset, ride ATVs, etc. Al Dar island looks amazing as well. 🙂
I’m sure you’d enjoy it! 🙂
Such fun attractions that I never knew existed in Bahrain! I’ll definitely be visiting the camel farm and fort very soon
