Have you seen Palawan photos that made you fall in love with its beauty? If you haven’t, then this is a post you need to see!
Don’t we all love a beautiful scenery? Admit it.. We’re a die hard nature-lover people. From gorgeous sunsets to the bluest ocean, we have a soft spot for incredible landscapes and seascapes.
Most of us, including me, will go to lengths just to see nature at its finest. I’ve trekked to witness the sea of clouds. Learned to swim and mustered up my courage to put on a snorkeling mask (speaking from someone who was literally almost afraid of everything unfamiliar) to see gorgeous corals.
Woke up super early in the morning to witness the sunrise. And of course, saved up and planned to travel and see places that are worth visiting.
I’ve had a lot of places in my ‘bucket list’ that I’m slowly ticking off. This includes visiting one of the Philippines’ most popular island: Palawan.
Admittedly, I still have to visit El Nido soon. It’s one of the three (3) municipalities (well, technically Puerto Princesa is categorized as a city. 🙂 ) that attracts tourists not only within the Philippines but internationally as well.
I can really see why that is so. Palawan’s natural wonders are a sight to behold and are definitely a must-see.
I’ll have to see if my husband/ travel buddy/ photographer/ videographer is game for the long road trip from Puerto Princesa to El Nido, though. He’s pretty much game to anything except sitting down for hours on a bus or a van or a car. LOL.
For the meantime, I’d like to take you on a virtual journey why I love Palawan and why it’s been on my bucket list. And why people from around the world wants to visit this gorgeous island.
I’ll be giving you more reasons to visit Palawan, Philippines with these gorgeous Palawan photos of the landscapes and seascapes that you’re missing if you haven’t been!
Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa
We had the chance to stay for a couple of nights in Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa. It’s a privately owned island in Puerto Princesa. Over the years, it had its share of controversies. Nevertheless, there it is, still thriving and providing a beautiful island experience.
For me personally, it was the perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A private island getaway that will surely rejuvenate you.
Most of you probably know that we Filipinos love to sing. Regardless if singing loves us or not. LOL. Why am I telling you this? Well, because we had a ‘videoke’ session on one of the small cottages here one night. hahaha.
Because of the set-up, you can’t really disturb other guests which is a good thing.
Guests as they arrived from Puerto Princesa. The only way to get in and out of the island is through one of those boat.
We were taken on a 10-20 minutes boat ride to this area for our snorkeling trip. The corals were just amazing!
The resort’s beach front. It was so peaceful and very photogenic. We had a blast taking photos.
Puerto Princesa
Serving as the Island’s capital city, Puerto Princesa is home to the famed Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. I’ve been to Puerto Princesa twice and it never failed to impress me.
Just had to include this as I love the silhouette and how dramatic the shot was. 🙂
As we were approaching one of our destinations for the Honda Bay Island Hopping.
The tourists as they were preparing to snorkel. We had the opportunity to see the beautiful corals here too!
While we waited for our group to be called during the Underground River Tour, we feasted our eyes (and yes, our phone. LOL) with the view!
The entrance to the Underground River. Small boats are queued to take turns entering the river.
Coron
Located in Northern Palawan, Coron is one of the country’s prime diving destination. We got to stay for a couple of days here. But I would surely love to go back and see more!
View from the Mount Tapyas View Deck at the lower level. It was a sunny afternoon and the view was lovely! This was some of the great landscape I saw during our Coron Town Tour.
The view from the upper level at the Mt. Tapyas was even more breathtaking!
And of course, sunsets! Who doesn’t love sunsets? I’m pretty sure I do!
The dock at the Calauit Safari Reserve. We had to wait a little bit here when we arrived and upon leaving the island. The place was very relaxing…
The entrance at the Barracuda Lake on our Coron Ultimate Tour.
The view as we were heading to Siete Pecados.
If you still have doubts as to why you should visit Palawan, I hope the photos have somewhat convinced you to book that plane ticket now…
I can guarantee that there is always something that you’ll enjoy: a wildlife reserve, diving and snorkelling spots, hot springs and more!

Every time I see photos of Palawan, I want to go more and more! How absolutely stunning. That water color is just amazing. Your accomodation looks amazing! I love bungalows and I’m sure those are much more affordable than the ones in Bora Bora and Maldives!
Thank you Maggie! It was indeed an amazing stay.. 🙂 There are pretty affordable and great accommodations you can choose from..
WOW the Phillipines are gorgeous. I can’t wait to visit. Great photos
Thank you! 🙂
Oh my gosh, your photos!! Absolutely incredible. I’ve not yet made it to the Philippines (it’s pretty much top of my bucket list at this point), but every single photo I see just adds to my desire to get there! The water is SO beautiful, and there seems to be so much variety in what you can see and do. Btw, I loved your dramatic shot with the flags and the turtle too 😉 Thanks so much!
Awww… Thank you, Sheree! Glad you liked it!
Wow, what an amazingly beautiful place!
Thank you Danielle! 🙂 It is.. You should come and visit!
Gorgeous! I love the picture of the underground river entrance. So amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Michelle! Glad you liked it! 😀
Gorgeous photographs. Palawan is looking so beautiful through your lens.
Thank you Sapna.. It was fun getting all of these shots as they were amazing!
So unbelievably gorg! I have been wanting to go to the Philippines. But this photos further confirm that.
That looks like paradise on earth! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I really need to go back and see more of Palawan. I did a few nights in El Nido but definitely not enough cause I got sick right before getting there and didn’t feel well enough to go on any boats r anything.
That’s so beautiful!! The colours are amazing, and the water looks so clear! Thank you for this guide!
Looks beautiful, the underground river looks amazing.
I’ve definitely noticed your love for the waters and islands! It is so refreshing!
Whole of Philippines is so much blessed by mother Nature that every island here looks so beautiful and Palawan is no exception! Puerto Princesa is exceptionally awesome.
Oh my, these photos are amazing. I am planning a trip to Palawan soon and you have given me a few ideas here. The huge hills above the coastline are beautiful and I would love to hike along here.
Love this! Really want to go the Philippines. Your pictures look beautiful and made me ever more enthusiast.
I’m a truly nature lover so I would definitively love to visit Palawan ! The Dos Palmas Island Resort looks amazing ! I love these bungalows: walking along a wooden plank boardwalk with translucent water… it should be really peaceful, right ? I’ve never been there but would definitively love to.
I can’t believe we skipped Palawan when I went to the Philippines- I’ve seen so many amazing photos of the water, including yours! I’d love to visit Siete Pecados. Great shots!
oh my goodness, these photos are just breathtaking!! I have always wanted to visit this paradise and you are convincing me i need to go right away!
Puerto Princesa and Coron look simply stunning! A true paradise on Earth! And the entrance to the underground river is so inviting. It reminds a bit of the caves we visited off the coast of Sicily and those in Vietnam. We’d love to visit the Philippines one day!
Oh my god it looks amazing! And I like the sound of videoke hahaha…
Beautiful photos. Every time I see images of most of the places in the Philippines I’m simply stunned.
Your post reminds me of the first time I went snorkeling in the South China Sea near Redang Island in Malaysia. It was a moment that I would never forget – I could have never imagined the underwater world until I saw it with my own eyes.
Unfortunately, in India, we are not taught swimming in school so a lot of us miss out on underwater adventures. This is good reason to invest in learning to swim.
Just like you, we love nature and we have Palawan on the top of our bucket list! The Dos Palmas Island resort sounds like a good place to stay, especially because it’s so quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, thank you!
Ahh it all looks so incredibly beautiful!
Guess we have something in common – if I were to make a list for myself, Palawan would certainly be a part of it! I love nature too and especially love swimming in the blue waters…and Palawan seems to have it all 🙂
The Dos Palmas resort looks stunning too!
You were definitely right that Palawan has an innumerable amount of natural beauty. The resort looks absolutely divine also. This certainly looks like paradise.
What beautiful pictures and places in this area! I love it! I adore the underground river in Puerto Princesa, I’d really want to go there and see that for myself, I can imagine it feels really magical. Palawan is now on my list!
Such a lovely place. How would you say the locals are to the foreigners visiting the Palawan area? I always hear mixed stories about that, similar to Hawaii. Some love it, others think it is horrible. Love to hear your thoughts about it. 🙂
Being one of the Philippines’ most visited islands, the locals are pretty used to and very friendly towards foreigners (Filipinos are generally very friendly and hospitable. 🙂 )..
What a beautiful island!! Wow!
The view from Mt. Tapyas is awesome! Added Palawan to my visit list! Thank you for sharing!
Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa really sounds lovely. I mean, a private island?! Oh, yes, please! 🙂
And how about that Underground River! I went back to see your photo again. It seems a bit scary to enter it by boat, but I guess that it would be safe with people who do tours there and know the area. Would love to see what it looks like inside!
I learned swimming quite late, and I started snorkelling after I hit 30. But I know the apprehension that is associated with it and the fear of going underwater. Glad you had such a good time, I loved the photos and the write up.
This sounds like exactly what I need: a little rejuvenation and inspiration! Desperately in search of a beach vacay and the Phillippines are calling my name! That’s for all the great tips and must-see places to include in my itinerary.
When we went to the Palawan we visted Coron, Puerto Princesa and El Nido. We loved all three for the same reason you did. It’s a stunning place and we had some of the best snorkeling that I have ever done around Coron Island. I can’t wait to go back again.
I could NOT agree more! Nature just never ceases to amaze and likewise with your photos of Palawan… wow! It’s truly amazing how heaven on earth really exists in places like these!!! I’m also usually not a big tour person but I’d for sure be down to check out Coron Ultimate Tour for those amazing views.
Such gorgeous pictures, straight out of a Magazine 🙂
Thinking of going to the Philippines next year, Will save this for consideration!
A picture is worth a thousand words and these pictures are indeed a million words. They have captured the enchanting beauty of Palawan in vibrant colour. What a lovely place and these pictures propel me to get there as fast as possible.
Your post and pictures have won me. Philippines is on our list from long and hopefully we will be there in 2018. I so wanna go and explore Palawan. Everything is just wow.
I have been to the Philippines 8 times and yet have not seen Palawan yet! I can’t wait til I visit this beautiful part of the country. I am hoping next winter to be able to vacation there. These photos are absolutely beautiful!
Your photos have convinced me! I need to book my ticket to the Philippines! And that cave, how awesome!
So beautiful! I’d love to go there!
These pictures are gorgeous! I’d love a chance to snorkel here. I got to do it once in Australia as a kid, but it’s been an eternity since then.
Wow, these photos are fantastic! We’ll be exploring the Philippines next year and your post has really inspired us.
Palawan looks so beautiful..I am just dying to see the Philippines!
This actually reminds me a lot of Hawaii in some ways!
Valerie
Omg how beautiful… I am just staring at the amazing blue water. Yes, I love nature too … A die hard fan. And your photos are giving me serious wanderlust.
The phillipines is just so beautiful! And your pictures are great, as ever 😉
My favourite color is aqua and all shades of aqua. I think Palawan will definitely fulfil my color palette requirement. I may just sit there doing nothing but drinking in the views. All day long.
The blue of the ocean waters with the mountains rising above it is so magical. Hopefully someday I can visit this beautiful part of the world.
Somehow I thought that Palawan is quite a touristic place and tried to avoid this place. But from your photos, I see that there are no one 😀 Is it because of low season or other reasons?
There were plenty of tourists, tbh, but just enough not to be too crowded.. 🙂 I think one of the reasons why it’s perfectly alright to go there during peak season (esp on summer) because there are plenty of things to do.. 🙂
What a beautiful place. I love to snorkel so this seems perfect for me!
The Philippines looks incredible. Just look at the colour of that water! Great to hear you had such a good time 🙂
Definitely on my bucket list now. Ive never heard of this till now. Its gorgeous.
This looks like a perfect place for a postnup holiday. Cozy Spa, lovely sunsets, pristine beach what else one would want.
Palawan is naturally beautiful and I agree one must surely visit here. Limestone cave and serene beaches what else you can ask for. Noted for my future travel.
I had dreamed for years to visit Palawan and finally, in May I got to visit! It was one of the most beautiful places I had ever visited. So picturesque and mind-blowingly beautiful!
This is stunning!! All the colors are so bright and beautiful. Palawan has been on my list for a long time, can’t wait to get there and see a few of these spots in person 🙂
so many comments! I think everyone started dreaming about the Philippines after visiting your blog 🙂 Funny thing I just had a convo about Palawan during my breakfast at work 🙂 my friend is going and I would DIE TO GO now 🙂 We are moving to Thailand with my fiance next year so it will be a good base to visit that part of the world. You seem to be a very nice person Marvi, I wish you good luck with your beautiful blog!
Aww.. Thank you! Good luck on your move to Thailand! Hope you do get to visit Palawan and the Philippines in general.. I’m sure you’ll love it!
I am booked to travel to Palawan in January next year and so this post was perfect for stoking my wanderlust! It looks so gorgeous and I cannot wait to dive into that water. What was your favourite swimming spot?
Definitely Siete Pecados! The corals are just amazing.. 🙂 I’m sure you’ll love Palawan! 🙂
Wow, just wow!! Your first paragraph really hit it on the nail.
I thoroughly enjoy your photos as well. As a Caribbean island woman, sunset, ocean and beautiful landscapes are what i am the most grateful for.
So glad that you learnt to swim, as I believe the underworld to be even more mesmerizing than the one on land.
Keep it up!
The colors are so vivid! Places like this are hard to imagine are real until you see them in person.
Beautiful post about an obviously magical country. The pictures look like postcards but better. I didn’t have it on my bucket list so far, but I need to change that!
Palawan is high on my list to visit. The sunset view at the top of Mt. Tapyas is stunning. Who doesn’t love sunsets?! The diving must be incredible out there. Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa looks like the perfect place to relax.
This is the 3rd post I’m reading on Palawan today, and it sounds even more exciting with each one! Pictures looks beautiful and it sounds like there’s so much to do. it seems like I should take the plunge and book a trip to the Philippines
I loved the gorgeous photo spread. It’s a visual delight! I have been hearing a lot about Palawan off late. Your pictures make me want to visit it as soon as possible.
Ah, Palawan! One of our favorite travel destinations. We’ve been to Puerto Princesa and El Nido. Gorgeous places! Our next target, perhaps next year, is Coron. We would love to scuba dive and explore the shipwrecks there. 🙂
I’m sure you’ll love it.. I really should visit El Nido soon!
Wow Palawan looks amaaaazing! Snorkelling there would be pretty cool!
Omg!!!! Lucky you!!! You’ve been to Coron already!! In my case, I’ve only visited El Nido and Puerto Princesa for a day. I didn’t stay that for long. It’s nice to hear from your post that you’ve loved PALAWAN! It’s the best island in the world, right? 🙂
Definitely! 🙂
You will make us fall in love with Phillipines ! My mum’s best friend is a Filipino. They are the sweetest and funniest people ever. We have plans of visiting Phillipines in near future (when the rates go down, lol). Palawan islands look stunning. I love the turquoise water and would love to do all adventure activities possible there. We had been thinking of going to Maldives and this looks as pretty as that to me. So thanks for bringing this to our travel list.
Awww.. That’s so great! 🙂 You really should visit, Moimehr.. 🙂
Your photos are amazing, I recently booked my first trip to Palawan and cannot wait till it is time to go.
